Let’s get a little deeper into my journey, shall we?

Designing and creating is something that comes naturally to me. The earliest memory I have of me being so intrigued and proud with my design was in elementary school when my computer teacher taught the class how to recreate our local tv stations logo using MS paint. It was the coolest thing ever!

Designing comes in many forms for me so I found myself leaning towards arts and craft projects at an early age. I’m great at sewing, jewelry making, woodwork, furniture flipping, you name it. So when I decided to turn this hobby of mine into a side business in college, and when Etsy was not personalized enough for me, the only thing left was to have my own website. That is where my web designing journey started. I did some research online and within a few days, I had designed and implemented my own website. I decided to take on that task for a few friends and it took off from there.

I completed my bachelor of science in Chemistry with plans of going to pharmacy school, however, my passion for design grew stronger and I decided to take the plunge and follow the path to design. I decided to become a UX Designer because I love using design to solve problems. It’s fascinating to me how combining empathy and creativity can lead to such impactful user-centered products. I have spent the past 4+ years designing and overseeing simple, straightforward yet effective user experiences through websites for clients. I have also taken much time through education, up-skilling and consistent practice to equip myself with relevant design skills, expertise and modern software knowledge required to thrive in this field. My previous experience in the pharmacy industry has taught me how to work together with a team in a fast paced environment to accomplish expected goals in a timely manner. It has also taught me how to pay attention to details and to be meticulous with everything i do. My experience as a freelance UX Designer and previous project role at IBM as the sole designer, has also allowed me to work independently as the lead on multiple projects simultaneously and also gained confidence in communicating the processes of design to clients. My most recent role as a web & UX Designer at Booz Allen Hamilton has taught me to expand my horizon as a designer and skill-up in many technical ways including coding using Angular.

I’m look forward to being a part of a new team and join in on the collaborative effort in providing impactful solutions for clients and their users. I see myself making great impact in this industry and that excites me every time.
